دیوید کاپرفیلد (به انگلیسی: David Copperfield) با نام اصلی دیوید سِت کاتکین (به انگلیسی: David Seth Kotkin)، تردست اهل آمریکا است. در ۱۶ سپتامبر سال ۱۹۵۶ در شهر «متاچن» نیوجرسی آمریکا از پدر و مادری یهودی که از روسیه مهاجرت کرده بودند، به دنیا آمد. او در کودکی، شعبده بازی با کارت را از پدر بزرگش آموخت. کاپرفیلد نخستین اجرای خود را در سن ۱۲ سالگی در شهر زادگاهش به نمایش گذاشت و در سن ۱۶ سالگی به تدریس یک دوره درسی شعبده بازی در دانشگاه نیویورک پرداخت.
او را موفقترین تردست جهان در تمام دورانها معرفی کردهاند. او در طول ۳۰ سال فعالیت، ۱۱ رکورد جهانی گینس را به نام خود ثبت کرد و نشان ملی شوالیه را از دولت فرانسه و دکترای افتخاری را از دانشگاه فوردهام دریافت کرد و توسط کتابخانه ملی کنگره آمریکا «اسطورهٔ زنده» لقب گرفت. از محبوبترین نمایشهای او ناپدید نمودن مجسمه آزادی به سال ۱۹۸۳ بود. از تردستیهای دیگرش، گذشتن از دیوار بزرگ چین و فرار از زندان آلکاتراز (که تابه آنروز هیچ زندانی موفق به فرار از آن نشده بود) میباشد. وی همچنین بهعنوان نخستین تردستی شناخته شد که بدون کمک کابل توانست پرواز کند.
کاپرفیلد تا به امروز بیش از ۴۰ میلیون عدد بلیط فروخته و توانسته بیش از ۳ میلیارد دلار از این راه کسب درآمد کند ( بیشتر از مایکل جکسون و مدونا ) و باعث شد رکورد پردرآمدترین و پرتماشاچیترین سرگرمیساز و پرتماشاچیترین تردست جهان را در کتاب گینس به نام خود ثبت کند.
